We at Critter Condos feel we need to post some info regarding the use of our cages, we did not design them to be heated like a glass tank, we designed them to save you money on electrical expenses, you never need to use high wattage heat bulbs to heat the unit, in fact over 100 watts is probably too hot!!!!!!

On some of our big units like 8x3x2 its possible depending on the ambient temprature ( room temp) at this size you may need a larger bulb, but not on a 4 or 6 foot cage, if you run your heater in the house at 90 degrees with the front door open you may be semi cozy with your soroundings, this is my description of a glass tank, if you run it at 70 degrees with the door closed you are cozy, this is a critter condo, so please for the comfort sake of your animal watch and inspect the temperature of your pets home.

Remember the person that you ask what equipment to use doesnt know the tempature of the room your storing the cage.

About Us

It all started in 2003; our son got a bearded dragon. 
After numerous trips to the reptile store to get crickets, I finally decided to fill an old hobby I had. I bought a boa, my other two children bought dragons, and then my wife got corn snakes the house became chaos full of glass terrariums and accessories. 
The amount of room these cages took up was ridiculous, and our cats had a field day every day jumping on top of the tanks trying to visit our collection, not to mention the fabulous electric bill from high wattage heat bulbs being used to heat up the tanks and the fact we had to replace them every time the cats knocked over the domes!
So all things considered I searched the market for a better cage. I found plastic cages, but they were pricey and not esthetically pleasing. I found some melamine cages, but didn't like their structural integrity and the components used, along with the limited sizes.
I built my own and by trial and error created the best most insulated, low maintenance, most durable, and most appealing cage on the market for the best price on the market. We know what reptiles need, but furthermore we strive to make them comfortable, and for the hobbyist, we offer you stackable modular units you can afford, we keep your cats out, we even reduce your electric bill. 
Bottom line is reptiles are like addictions you cant have just one, but there's only so much room in your house.
